Today I am thinking of our friends Matt & Mindy as they celebrate Greyson’s 1st birthday in heaven. I know between their tears they are smiling and that in their broken hearts they feel God’s presence.
I pray it will be a wonderful day for them.

Friday Praise & Prayers
Boo at the fair.
Don’t they resemble “Chips”? All they need are the aviator shades & uniforms.
Dylan had a blast with the animals.
So, my praise is…
We made it through the fair!
We ate elephant ears for breakfast & breadstix for lunch, rode lots of rides, pet animals of all sorts & even played a couple of games (those carnies get us every time).
My prayer today is for my friend, Jo. Her sister, Amy, was recently diagnosed with early onset of Alzheimer’s. Just this week she was put in Hospice & given a week or two to live. Please lift them in prayer along with me.
I am also praying for this coming school year; for the students, teachers (praying especially for you, Terri), administration & parents.
Have a blessed weekend!
Hope in Him
I want need to share an encouragement; not just for my eyes to see & my heart to feel (because I need it today), but also for you… the ones who may be struggling today, the ones who may be facing mountain-size trials, and for those of you who just need to be reminded that He is still God.
“Hope is a golden cord connecting you to heaven. This cord helps you hold your head up high, even when multiple trials are buffeting you. I never leave your side, and I never let go of your hand. But without the cord of hope, your head may slump and your feet may shuffle as you journey uphill with Me. Hope lifts your perspective from your weary feet to the glorious view you can see from the high road. You are reminded that the road we’re traveling together is ultimately a highway to heaven. When you consider this radiant destination, the roughness or smoothness of the road ahead becomes less significant. I am training you to hold in your heart a dual focus: My continual Presence and the hope of heaven.” -Sarah Young “Jesus Calling”
I believe there is still hope today…
Friday Praise & Prayers
This weekend D, O & I head up to Camp Wild. This will be D & my 4th year & O’s 1st year. It is an amazing week of praise, prayers & fun. And weather-wise, it sounds like it will be filled with sun (and lots of it) this year. 130 kids will be packing their sleeping bags & flashlights and heading to camp this year. It is a place where the Holy Spirit is present & the kids are covered in prayer & can learn what a deeper relationship with Jesus is all about.
My prayer today is for everyone going, from the parents bringing the kids to camp, the campers, the AMAZING counselors, the lead team (my role this year), or to the Wesley staff. Would you please join me in prayer for all these people who help make this week happen for a group of kids who are our next world-changers.
I also want to say thank you to all the spouses & families that stay home & keep things going while we are serving – you are just as much a part of Camp Wild as us! (Thank you, babe, for supporting me in this ministry that is so very dear to my heart this season in my life & to our kiddos that stay at home while mommy goes away for a few days to serve. I can’t wait for you all to experience this wonderful place – I luv you!)
This year we will have a special time to honor one of our veteran counselors who moved home to heaven earlier this year. Chuck, camp will be so different without you here, but oh the joy you are experiencing in heaven, I can only imagine!
Isn’t this pic fun? This is our 1st year of camp…this little guy is now 10…10! What good memories we are making. Another prayer request I am asking for is just for my mind to continue to stay steadfast on Christ. This summer I’ve had A LOT of thoughts of last summer, with my pregnant belly & what our busy family of 7 would be like in the fall. Now, this summer, as I think of & pack for camp, my mind instantly goes back to me being pregnant a year ago & what that was like. It brings tears, to think that this year I don’t have a baby at home for daddy to take care of while I’m gone.
It will be a great week with God whispering to me daily, but my heart is still heavy.
My praise this week is a praise in advance for what God will do while we are at camp, because I believe He ALWAYS does great things.
What are you praying for these days?
What are you praising God for?
Friday Praise & Prayers
I’ve been thinking a lot this week about my friends that are struggling through their grief. My prayer today is for them. I pray that they will be able, even if it is for just a moment, to turn their thoughts on Jesus and let Him carry them. May their hearts be held gently by our King and may they feel Him close everyday. (That is my prayer for me, too).
I am praising God today for my husband, who even though I am sure would like to “fix me” and make me “all better”, lets me walk out my mourning one step at a time.
What are you praying for this week?
What are you praising God for?
Friday Praise & Prayers
It looks like Lulu is praying in this sweet photo – luv it!
What prayers are you saying today? I’ve been praying for my friend Aimee this week as she has been celebrating Charlotte. I’ve also been praying for my friend, Robyn’s son, while he travels out-of-state for a job interview. And I’ve been lifting up Camp Wild kids & families & servants this week, as we gear up to head to camp next month.
I have been thankful this week for my husband, as he continually leads our family closer to Christ. What are you thankful for today?

Friday Praise & Prayers
What a beautiful Friday it has been…
With the tiny exception of one particular house that we were going to look at has now sold. When we found out this afternoon it reminded me of my devotion this morning, so I thought I would share…
“No worries”, I like that phrase (even if I don’t practice it as often as I should), it is good for me to be reminded to turn my worrying into praising and thanking Him.
So my prayer today is for everything that involves our house…the selling of our current one & the finding of a new one.
What about you? What prayers or praise do you have today?
Friday Praise & Prayers
So, I’ve had a few things I’ve wanted to write about in this post, but those things were trumped by this new post I will call “Friday Praise & Prayers”. I Chronicles 16:11 says “Look to the Lord and His strength; seek His face always.”
I want to share 2 different prayer requests with you today & if you have something that is weighing heavy on your heart, please feel free to leave a prayer request for us to pray for you.
Or better yet, if you are smiling ear to ear with a praise, share that with us.
It is GOOD to rejoice! (Phil. 4:4)
So my first prayer request is for a dear friend I met in Nashville, Kim has a friend who just lost their baby boy this past week. This is too fresh of a road for Kim to be on, to not only pray for her friend, but also to have so many feelings brought back to the surface of her own loss. My prayer for this family is that they will lean heavily in God’s arms & feel His presence more than anything else. My prayer for Kim, is that as she encourages & prays for this family, that her aching heart will find comfort.
My second request is for another family I have never met, but through an email today from my dad, it has found a place in my heart. This family is reaching out for prayer for their unborn baby that may have a Trisomy. My heart breaks even now as I type that word and think, just 8 short months ago, I did not even know what a “Trisomy” was. But today I want nothing more than for this family to be the one that has a miracle baby that wows the doctors.
And now for my praise of the week… only 3 days left of school left! We are ready for summer, swimming, music lessons, sleeping in (maybe), cooking out & fun.
Have a safe & sunny weekend.
